Greetings:

I want to give a heartfelt thank you to the members of Arabian Court No 52, Daughters of Isis for electing me as your Illustrious Commandress for the 2010 year. My heart thrills with pride and I shall do my utmost to prove that your trust has not been misplaced.

A new year has begun and while I am very grateful for the confidence reposed in me, I am not unmindful of the tremendous responsibilities that come with the acceptance of this office.  It is a privilege for me to work with you and I shall try to perform each duty, great or small, with faithfulness and impartiality.  Not only do I ask for your cooperation but also your patience and understanding.

I pledge you the very best of my mind, heart and energy, and ask that you covenant with me in a motto worthy of our principles, “Nurturing through leadership, dedication, and commitment.” I believe that these attributes can make us a court that possesses passion, authenticity, credibility, and ethics.

Leadership is having an honest understanding of who you are, what you know, and what you can do. You must have high regard for human worth and dignity.

Dedication is to be genuine. From my perspective, being who you are all the time.  This helps us to be loyal and faithful. We admit our shortcomings to ourselves, recognize our strengths, and live who we are.

Commitment is being so compelling that your whole self, body, mind, and spirit are engaged.  You must do what you say you will do. Your credibility is manifested in the actions you promise and deliver.

So I say to you, this year is ours, ours to advance. No one person can carry on the work of the court alone and I ask the support and cooperation of each and every one of you. The past is beyond recall, but a New Year is before us and if we all work together, we shall have a happy and successful year.

Again, I thank you. May we place our Court nearer its God-given destiny?

Sisterly Love,

Dt. Leisha A. Bell (52)
